Grace & Sam | A Festive De Courceys Manor Wedding

There’s something about De Courceys Manor weddings in winter that just works. Just a few days-before-Christmas, festive décor, and a genuinely lovely couple, and you’ve got a wedding day that feels warm, emotional, and full of personality – exactly like Grace and Sam’s.

Their day took place at De Courceys Manor in Cardiff, beautifully dressed for Christmas. The venue already has so much character, and the seasonal touches only added to it – soft lights, festive details, and that cosy winter feel that makes everything slow down just a little.

A Ceremony That Felt Like Them

Grace and Sam’s ceremony was relaxed, meaningful, and full of little moments that felt completely true to who they are. One of my favourites? Instead of sticking to tradition, they flipped a coin to decide which surname they’d take. Simple, personal, and a perfect reflection of their approach to the day – equal, light-hearted, and very much in it together.

Christmas at De Courceys Manor

This is where De Courceys Manor weddings really shine. At Christmas, the manor feels intimate and welcoming, without losing any of its elegance. The festive décor was subtle but effective – enough to lean into the season without overpowering the day.

Even in December, the grounds offered plenty of beautiful backdrops, and the winter light worked perfectly for a relaxed, documentary feel. It’s a venue that gives you options no matter the time of year, which is exactly why so many couples choose it.

Emotional Speeches & A Shared Thank You

The speeches were a real highlight. Grace and Sam decided to do their speech together, standing side by side to thank their friends and family. It felt natural and heartfelt.

Sam was especially emotional during this part of the day – the kind of emotion you don’t try to hide, and shouldn’t. Those honest moments are always the ones that matter most, and the room was completely with him. Quiet laughter, happy tears, and a lot of love.

A Wedding Full of Heart

Grace and Sam are one of those couples who make a wedding day feel easy. No big performances, no pressure – just two people who clearly care deeply about each other and the people around them. Their De Courceys Manor wedding was full of warmth, kindness, and moments that didn’t need staging.

Why De Courceys Manor Works So Well in Winter

If you’re thinking about a winter or Christmas wedding, De Courceys Manor is a venue that truly comes into its own at this time of year. It’s relaxed but refined, full of character, and perfect for couples who want their day to feel personal rather than overproduced.

Grace and Sam’s wedding was a brilliant reminder that winter weddings don’t need to be complicated to be special – just good people, a beautiful setting, and space for real moments to happen.

De Courceys Manor Wedding - Jen & Nick

Hello there. If your looking for De Courceys Manor wedding inspiration then I have some good news for you. As a recommended wedding supplier for De Courcey Manor weddings, I have photographed at this venue many times and love going back there to be a part of beautiful weddings. Today I am going to post some highlights from Jen & Nick's wedding at De Courceys Manor which is just outside Cardiff.

Bridal prep and ceremony - De Courceys Manor wedding

I'd met Jen & Nick at a few other weddings that I had photographed around south Wales so was very very happy when they asked me to photograph their wedding. Jen & Nick are such lovely people and the whole day was full of laughter and jokes. I had so much fun capturing all the candid images as everyone was having such a good time.

Speeches & couple photos in the dark!

All speeches were very heartfelt and beautiful at Jen & Nick's wedding. Everyone sport from the heart and showed how loved these two are. We had decided to not do any couples photos in the day as Nick & Jen were having such a great time with all their guests. However as speeches were longer than expected that meant it was dark when we had the time. However not to worry. As I love taking portraits in the dark and De Courceys is the venue for this with all the lights and different corners for interesting photos.

Party time!

There was nothing else to do but have a good time and everyone really did!

Thank you for taking a look through my photographs of Jen & Nick's De Courceys wedding. If you want to chat about your wedding plan, I would love to hear all about it. The best way to contact is through the contact page and take a look at my Instagram for my most up to date work.
